My 68 year old mother throws this pic up on FB for TBT.

First thing out of my mouth is WHO'S IMPALA?!???!? and WHY DIDN'T YOU KEEP IT?!??!

"Why didn't you keep it ... wait how old is that?" for me. Well, sort of . Not even sure it's the exact model, but it was a Horch/Audi from back in the day. Should have been bigger, but this picture will do.

The first car I ever rode in was a white 1968 Fury wagon with the 383 4-barrel, 4 speed stick, and heavy-duty suspension and brakes package. When I was two my dad sold it and bought a 1980 Subaru GL 4x4 wagon (of which my fondest memories include being strapped into the booster seat while jumping and sliding around the local dirt roads with my mother at the wheel...) The high school kid who bought the Fury wrapped it around a tree two weeks after he bought it. We have since discovered that that was one of the rarest builds of the Fury, with about 200 wagons leaving the factory so equipped...

HOLY CRAP!!! 63 impala! chrome steelies! thin whites! lowering! this reminds me of one of my favorite photos in the world because it represents my goals in life. 3 kids a nice looking wife and a dope custom car.

When my Grandpa was alive and he told me he DDed a 69 Camaro SS manual into Boston from the suburbs and apparently used to scare the crap out of his daughters for driving it to it's limits I almost lost it.

So bad ass. My gramps bought a new Boss and used to rip out of the Elks Lodge after a few "sodas". The staties couldn't catch him. They would always stop by the next morning to chat. He'd play dumb claiming it was someone else. Only one Boss Mustang in a town of 1,200 people...

Hahahaha. Not that I encourage enjoying too many "sodas" before driving, but that's a bad ass story.

My grandpa moved on up the chain and his cars followed, he spent the rest of his life driving Caddys.

But man the family list of cars...Monte Carlo's, Bel Airs, Boss Mustangs, Impala WAGON, Packards, Torinos...it just goes on

It's funny, both of my grandfathers were VP's at the same company. (my parents met because my grandfathers got transferred to the same town and put their kids in the same school). One grandpa was the Camaro SS then big Caddy's. The other went Toyota for a while then Mercury, Mercury, Ford. He's not able to drive anymore, but he rides in a Ford Fusion I got him a discount on. He was very disappointed when he went car shopping and realized that Mercury was dead.
